Technological Pedagogy

I created a short video using Zimmer Twins, Digital Story studio system to depict my digital self! A short 1 minute or so video for fun. I didn't grow up with the capacity or access to using technology via internet growing up until middle and high school during the early 2000's. Most of my time using technology was used creating tedious and notorious power points and research fixated for an objective, never getting to explore the bounds of education. I tend to keep to myself and only use technology as a means of mild communication or finding tidbits of information regarding specific subjects I enjoy. http://zimmertwinsatschool.com/node/157080

The end of the semester is upon us! Integrating Technology course has been fun, has been stressful, and has brought a higher understanding of potential implications and standards associates with technology in the classroom! The implications of technology can be given in a model known as SAMR that stands for substitution, augmentation, modification, and redefinition that is paired with standards, that have a varying use of degree upon the schools resources depending on technology access, known as International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) for students and educators (https://www.iste.org/). Sugata compares the Victorian Era use of producing contemporary models of citizens that were, or should be, identical in every way in order to allow relocation and keep a stable function in society. Unfortunately, the production has not changed since then, so modern day production of citizens are not meeting the needs and standards of the growing world and society. His experiment poses that society and the people in it have the capabilities and adaptability to grow and understand technology that has never been or may have never been accessible to that group ever. I think this has a great impact that could be used in modern day teaching, online or offline, by the sheer curiosity babies and children show on an every day basis. Based off of the Blended Learning models four primary areas;  rotation model, flex model, self-blended model, and virtually-enhanced model, I believe the rotation model could have a beneficiary effect on  and/or in my future or current classroom. Rotation Model has four sub-categories known as lab-rotation, station -rotation,  flipped- classroom, and individual-rotation models. Of those, I would focus primarily on station-rotation and individual-rotation. Why? In the music classroom, elementary grades, majority of the learning is skills based to show or perform understanding through play and activities. By involving students in station-rotation, I can have developmentally appropriate activities that could be tried and tested with individuals, small group, or even class wide to allow students to explore and learn as much of that area one needs before moving on; similar to the Montessori school system.
